And isn't there a Celebration this year in New Orleans? I think I read somewhere that there will be a "parade" for the first time since Katriba....! Darling kitty, btw.
HD, ~~Actually I got most of them in Casinos. The Rio in New Orleans has a sky parade several times a day and Harrah's New Orleans used to have a parade through the casino every night. I did get some just walking along Bourbon Street, but it wasn't Mardi Gras and I didn't have to flash.
Geewits, in Canada we always have pancakes for dinner on Shrove Tuesday (today). Here is the explanation from Wikipedia:
"Shrove Tuesday is the term used in the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada to refer to the day after Shrove Monday (or the more old fashioned Collop Monday) and before Ash Wednesday (the liturgical season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday). In Ireland, the UK, and amongst Anglicans, Lutherans and possibly other Protestant denominations in Canada including Newfoundland, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick, this day is also known as Pancake Day or Pancake Tuesday, because it is customary to eat pancakes on this day."
By the way, if Barney isn't the cutest cat in the entire world, I don't know who is... :-)
I was born and raised in North Carolina, but have lived all my adult life in Texas. I like to find humor in everything. I love to laugh and make people laugh. I love beer, cats, fun people. And sometimes I am denser than osmium (and that can be funny, too).

Is that today? Does that mean tomorrow's Ash Wednesday? So what's Thursday?
PS - That's a cute kitty in the pic.
That cat must have showed her nipples a lot to get all those beads.
I was actually wondering a similar thing as Ticknart!
That means I can have pancakes for supper. Yay!
Hooray!

Scarlet,
~~I'm not Catholic, but I think that makes Thursday the second day of Lent.
Ticknart and Dave,
~~Barney's a guy! They are his beads to throw to the cute kittens.
Josie,
~~Pancakes for supper? That's a Mardi Gras thing?
Noami,
~~They've been having parades every year. They never stopped.
Ok, so tomorrow is lent and we have to give up stuff, right?
Mmm... geewits... who had to get nekkid to get all these beads? LOL That's some nice assortment for a lovely kitty :)
Jazz,
~~Only if you're Catholic!
