Didn't Feel Like Thursday

You know how most days of the week have a certain feel to them? Today was really off. I think most people get a "day shift" on three day weekends or when some other random thing is going on. Like if you took Friday off, then Saturday may feel like Sunday. Or if you have a Monday off, then Monday felt like Sunday and Tuesday felt like Monday. Well today (Thursday) felt like Saturday. I've never shifted two whole days before. I have no idea why it felt like Saturday except maybe because I was doing Saturday things. My weekdays are not particularly regimented or anything except for washing the sheets on Mondays and doing MOW on Wednesdays, but I guess I must have a sort of regular cycle of things that I do. On Saturdays I usually do different and unusual things. And that's what I did today I guess. I don't know, it just felt like Saturday all day.
~
If you've been around long enough you may remember the hot water leak from last November. One of the after effects of that leak was a big crack over the corner of the large doorway between the entryway and the living room. It was bugging the hell out of My Sweetie, so I decided to patch it. I like to do all my own painting, but our living room has cathedral ceilings and I have "fear of falling." (A lot of people confuse this with fear of heights, but they are different things.) Well the wall with the crack is a regular height wall and I have always wanted to have an accent wall anyway, so I decided to take the plunge.
~
I have patched and primed the crack but have to pick out a paint color. I'm looking for a warm honey-colored brown. Or golden brown or "I'll know it when I see it" brown. I'm going to get chips on Saturday because the paint can't clash with that giant honking credenza that was Mom's. I will have pictures when it is all done and I hope that will be real quick like. Maybe by Monday it will be finished.
~
I looked at my x-ray films today. It was weird studying my spine and internal organs. And I think I saw my liver and it wasn't huge and angry-looking which is how I had imagined it. The weird thing was I had only seen this picture (that I had posted below), so it sort of freaked me out when I saw my own kidneys. The kidneys that belong to anonymous internet picture person are on the same level. My right kidney is about 2 or so inches below my left one. What's that all about? I always said I was off-balance but that was really odd looking.
~
I think this weather has given me a lot of energy. Seriously, I'm the anti-reptile. Reptiles can hardly move once they get cold and I can hardly move when I get too hot. These days of 84° have been like a crazy vitamin boost. I'm wondering what I will get done tomorrow. And I wonder what day it will feel like. Maybe I'll have another Saturday.

I'm looking forward to seeing what color you pick for your accent wall. I know it will look beautiful! I have been "off" on my days a couple of times recently too; and yeah...this weather is spectacular!

Well then, enjoy this last weekend of summer.

I have a fear of falling AND heights. I didn't realize you could have one without the other because if you fear heights, I imagine it's because you fear falling...but maybe that's just me.

Anyway, I'm glad you're tackling a new project. I love golden browns! I'd like to see which shade you choose and what it will look like. Please update.

Btw, I'm wishing you THREE Saturdays in a row! :)

Carole,
~~I hope it looks good!

Violetsky,
~~Texas is funny. Once fall officially hits on Monday it will probably go back into the 90's.

Scarlet,
~~Being in an airplane or a tall building looking out a window doesn't bother me at all. Only open tall places scare me - that's fear of falling. If looking out a high window or plane also scares you, you do have both. Three Saturdays in a row? That sounds excellent!

Maybe kidneys are like breasts: only hypothetically balanced.

Of course, for your kidneys, you can't wear a compensating bra, can you?

Jocelyn,
~~I can see it now:"Duluth Woman Invents Kidney Bra"

84 is too hot for me, give me 20-21 degrees Celsius (68-70 degrees F) as about right. I would not be a happy camper living in your neck of the woods. :o(

Big Brother,
~~What sucks for me is I love colder temps, but have painfully dry skin. If I could live in a cold, wet AND very sunny place I'd be fine, I'm just not sure that exists. Nova Scotia maybe? But wet and sunny don't normally go together.

Come to Ottawa. It's sunny a lot, really freakin cold sometimes and pretty damp almost all the time. We've had fog almost every morning this week. And it almost never gets above 84. Nova Scotia is damp, but rarely sunny.

Xup,
~~The weather sounds nice but Canada is crazy expensive and you can't buy beer in a convenience store or the grocery store. Or is that just Vancouver?

It is odd how there is this confusion of the days at times...And it really WILL feel like a different day that it is....!

Thanks for the suggestion about "settings" and such...But, I am not sure that is going to help my Blogger problem...It certainly may help people coming to visit me though...., so Thanks!

Naomi,
~~It's nice to know that others experience "day shifting" too! Good luck with your blogger problems.

Our salaries are commensurate with our prices, so it all evens out. But if Vancouver is super expensive anyway. It's the most expensive place in the country. Everyone would like to move there because it's cool, but no one will because prices of everything are through the roof. The beer situation varies from province to province. I think Quebec has the most readily available beer and hot damn if Quebec isn't a 2 minute drive over the bridge from Ottawa!! Also, it's much cheaper over there. Win win!

It's saturday night here and it feels like sunday, but that's probably because I took Friday off.

And re the beer, I dunno about the ROC (rest of Canada) but here in Quebec beer is readily available in convenience and grocery stores, so come on down girlfriend.
