Having a Backup

Whenever I need a green pepper, onion or avocado for a recipe, I always buy two. Sometimes when you cut into the green pepper, onion or avocado - no matter how great it looks on the outside - the insides are grey and icky. I simply toss that one and then I have a nice new one to start over with. Wouldn't it be nice if we could do this with everything from cars to shoes to relatives?

Oh, goodness!!! What a philosophy. Of course, then, that would mean there would have to be two of us as well. I'm not sure the world is ready for two of me. *heh*

But Josie,
~~You ARE the one of you that's not grey and icky on the inside!

LOL, LOL....The Avacado's you are getting these days...Are they from Chile??I find that the Chilean Avacodo's are more iffy than any Avacado I've ever had.....I cannot wait for the California ones to come back in season, cause right now, All we are getting are those it-might-be rotten-inside ones from Chile!

A bit like the shell game geewits.. "come right up ladies and gentlemen and guess which of the three is rotten inside, come on, come on it's easy... see " ;o)

Naomi,
~~That's a good question. I don't know where they come from. I should check that. Living in Texas, I always assume everything comes from Mexico, but what do I know?

Big Brother,
~~I never played the shell game, because I figured they were ALL rotten inside!

I know what you mean...I just hate it when I cut into a relative and find he/she is all gray inside. LOL

Scarlet,
~~Unfortunately, I have some relatives that are grey and icky inside. Consider yourself lucky!

Oh yeah how great would it be to be able to get rid of all the grey and icky...

Oh the dream... toss all those grey and icky people and stuff. Wouldn't that be great? :)

With me, it's not the avocado that are yucky, it's the onions. Always bugs me to no end when I buy from the farmer and they're half rotten. I think our avocados in Toronto come from Chile as well, or maybe it's Mexico. Depends where you go and how much you pay. Can't wait for spring/summer.
