Get Well Soon, BIL!

I was going to do my New York pictures tonight but I'm kinda blue and not in the mood. My brother-in-law, the fireman that makes the great shrimp boils and had brain surgery last week, had some complications, was re-admitted, had a second brain surgery on Monday, and has just today been moved out of ICU. So I'm not in the mood to chat or make funnies. We will see him tomorrow and if he feels better, I'll feel better.

Geewits, I hope your BIL is okay. And you take it easy too. It's difficult worrying about someone, when you feel helpless. Keep us posted.

Thanks Josie and Ian,
He's not improving as well as they would like and based on 3 criteria they may do a THIRD brain surgery. The doctor will decide this (Thursday) afternoon. He reacted so poorly to having to have the second surgery that if they need to go in again they're not even going to tell him. He seemed to come and go in waves while we were there of being his normal self and then not. His head looks like a baseball (his description). Poor guy. I hope he won't need the third surgery.

Thanks everyone! I just got off the phone with my SIL. She said they think the third surgery will NOT be needed. But she said there was some other bad stuff that she would tell me later because she has the kids right now for a little while. Hopefully it's not about his health but I'm still sad about whatever it is that she's calling it bad stuff. I don't know how she's even continuing to move right now. She called late last night and we talked for about an hour. I'm not even sure she eats or sleeps anymore. She really needs some peace in her life.

Geewits, gosh, bad stuff is not good. I'll keep my fingers crossed. How old is he? Tell your SIL we're all thinking about her. Take care.

Josie,
He is 37. I guess I misunderstood her original call today or maybe she phrased it oddly in front of the kids, but he DOES need a third surgery, he just doesn't want to do it. He's in chronic pain and very depressed about all of this. I made her swear to me she would get some sleep and she said she will try to sleep Saturday night. We will see her tomorrow (Saturday).

Hopefully things are going well.... (hugs)

When is the surgery scheduled? Your SIL probably won't sleep much until it's all over so we'll all just pray that she will have some sort of peace about everything. And that your BIL will not suffer either physically or emotionally. Praying for you all.

He is going to have his third surgery on Monday. Thanks everyone for your prayers and support. This has been very depressing.
