How Rude!

I thought we would have flowers or something nice to give to our Meals on Wheels people today. They sent cookies. There was a note that said, "Do not deliver cookies to the diabetic clients." So the cookies were only for the people who get "regular" meals. My two favorite ladies that I have had for about 6 1/2 years now are diabetic and so I had nothing for them. I wish I had known. I thought that was rude.

Rude, high-handed and unkind. They should have selected an alternative, acceptable treat for them.

Someone wasn't thinking very clearly!

You're right it was very thoughtless. No one likes to feel left out. Maybe you can do some little special thing for them.

Ian,
That's what I thought. In my 6 1/2 years of MOW, I never had a situation like that.

Tai,
It was very unusual and very strange. The cookies WERE an outside donation - maybe MOW didn't have time or resources to do something for the diet clients. And maybe the organization that donated the cookies didn't understand about the diet restrictions.

Josie,
They wouldn't feel left out because they wouldn't know the other people got a treat. I would have done something if I had known in advance. Only 3 of my 9 clients are diet. I'm probably the only one that was bothered by the whole thing. Hopefully it won't happen again.
