Frick! And Frack!

I was so excited when my package arrived this afternoon, even though the delivery man woke me up from a cozy little couch nap when he rang the doorbell. And my set of bamboo fiber mixing bowls were even in their own little box:
And they were wrapped tightly in plastic. But the biggest one was broken:
And the box of neatly wrapped bowls in their own little box had been in a larger box with towels, of all things. Nice soft fluffy towels. But this is what that box looked like on two different corners:

I am not a happy camper and now I will have to fill out all that crappy return paperwork and I absolutely HATE paperwork. But I want my bamboo fiber mixing bowls, dammit.

This is soooo typical of "Mercury Retrograde"...NOTHING goes right while that is happening, and that IS happening as we speak. It will go forward again on May 11th I believe, so, they say one should just stay in bed while Mercury is doing this...lol!

What a Big Bore to have to fill out all that paperwork and send these things back....OY!

Very cool 70s colours with those bowls!

So, is the broken off bit within all that plastic wrap? It looks almost as if they were wrapped up with one already broken.

Someone (or a few) don't take much pride and care with their work.

Having to return mailed/shipped stuff sucks. So much easier at a store. Oh well, I guess that's the price to pay for the convenience of shopping on the internet. Nevertheless, focus on what you have to do and I'm sure this will be a bad memory in a very short while. Oh, and by the way, those bowls are indeed lovely. You got taste girl! Cheers :-)

Ain't the snail mail system grand? I'll never forget a package I got once. It was originally a book, but somehow it had gotten torn to shreds and burned. So Canada Post sent me a plastic bag with all the remnants inside. The plastic bag proudly bore the words: A Special Delivery Service of Canada Post. Oh, and the book was about 4 months late. I would love to know what happened to it enroute.

Oh and some online purchasing systems have a very simple return procedure. Amazon, for instance - you just go into your account and click one thing for returns, briefly explain why you're returning it and they produce a return label for you which you print off and stick to the package. Then all you have to do is drop it in the mail.

Ack! They look like nice bowls too. I love shopping via the internet, but am also not a happy camper when it goes wrong. I have more experience with them losing the package, both when I've shipped and had items shipped to me, but can't think of anything I've received broken. I did order a beautiful colorful umbrella once that was badly faded when I got it. I was able to return it with very little hassle though.

Naomi,
~~Mercury in retrograde? Not sure about staying in bed, but I plan to stay home alot.

VioletSky,
~~I'm sure they were fine when wrapped. The shape of the delivery box is a dead giveaway.

Jazz,
~~Funny that you an V both noticed the colors. I just wanted some deep bowls and didn't really care what color they were.

Mr. Jazz,
~~Unwarranted compliment (see above comment), but thanks anyway.

Xup,
~~My husband got a birthday card like that once. But the letter was VERY explanatory and said that one of their employees was a thief and was being prosecuted and asked us to question the sender in case it had contained a gift card or money and to get back with them. But it was just a card.
This store does send a return label, I just have to fill out information to put inside the box.

Carole,
~~I remember your missing packages. Maybe you order such cool stuff, the people feel thay just have to have it for themselves.
