is this a bad time to mention that I find spiders fascinating? that said, though, they won't make it if they are in my bed or shower...
Just slip a piece of thin cardboard under the glass take it outside and let the spider to.
No fuss, no muss. I'd do it for you 'cause I think spiders kick major ass, but being almost 2000 miles away, it might take a while.

I agree with haphazardlife. That's usually what I do and I deposit them out in my garden to feed on those pesky flower eaters. Although one time years ago, I saw a black widow out front between two decorative rocks. We killed it and have been cautious of that area ever since. You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away and know when to run! haha
