Answering VioletSky

In the comment section a few posts back, VioletSky posted the above. First of all I didn't understand the question and second of all, there are three question marks. All I had said was that I was looking forward to planning the snacks for my road trip.
~
Doesn't everyone do that? We will be in the car all day. You have to have snacks. Plus that will be our lunch as we will be leaving late morning. Road snacks require thought. You have to have food that does not have particles that adhere to the fingers and then transfer to the steering wheel. For example: Ruffles (greasy), Rice Krispie treats (sticky), Cheetos (orange powdery mess).
~
I plan to make finger sandwiches of roast beef and horseradish cheddar. I will have grapes and strawberries and pretzels. All of these foods are relatively residue-free. Carrot sticks are also good. So yes, VioletSky, I do plan my road trip snacks. At least for the first day.

I think it's awesome that you do that. Me, I just grab whatever junk food is closest to the cash when I fill up.

I think you need to make my finder food for my next road trip. Roast Beef and horseradish cheddar sounds good.

I am never that organized!
I usually grab a banana or some grapes or crackers, then stop off at some town when the car needs more gas and find a place for a coffee and something light.
then again, I use that as an excuse to get out of the car and walk a bit (and sit somewhere else that is not moving)

I was incredulous and impressed.
and there should have been an exclamation mark.

Jazz,
~~At my age I have had my fill of gas station food. I like fun food for the first day. I think it takes the drudgery out of being in the car.

VioletSky,
~~I have no other way to phrase it except to say I am a pee monkey - so I have lots of opportunity to stretch my legs. And that's probably good because we have a Prius, so we will not be doing many gas stops. I don't feel like an organized person. To me it's just a fun part of the trip.

I also get distracted very easily and love getting off the highway to explore. I guess I am making up for all those family trips that involved simply getting from A to B with no stops and no detours.
Next weekend I have a two hour drive to a cottage that will likely take me five hours.

VioletSky,
~~Sorry to hear about your non-stop family trips. Dad loved to stop at anything that looked interesting, so I grew up like that. I'm quite the peeing fool, so we make lots of stops.
